Rules

  • The event is open to undergraduate students of all disciplines
  • Maximum Team Size: 2
  • No student can be an author of more than one participating paper.
  • It is not necessary that the students forming a team should be from the same college.
  • There is no restriction on the numbers of team from the same college.
  • All results will be announced on the website & will be mailed to the team members of the succeccful teams.
  • The abstract should be in .pdf or .doc format.
  • The prescribed format should be followed failing which may lead to disqualification of the participants. Papers should be sent in IEEE format, not exceeding 10 pages.
  • The I-fest ’11 organizers reserve all rights to change/update any or all of the above rules as they deem fit. All changes will be highlighted on the website.

Phase 1(Abstract Submission)

  • The abstract should not exceed approx 400-500 words. The abstract submitted should be focusing on the problem statement, scope of work,the idea proposed, original work done and brief results and findings.(Use of PDF is encouraged).
  • The abstract should contain maximum 3 pictures.
  • The font of the abstract text should be in Times New Roman with a font size of 12.
  • The abstract should be mailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and with subject "Team Name-Abstract Submission" for round I.
  • Dont forget to mention the following things on the FrontPage of your paper
    • Track/Theme
    • Registration ID
    • Name of Author(s)
    • Name of your Topic
    • College Name
    • University Name
  • 10 Teams selected on the basis of the first round will have to give their presentation in i-fest 2011.
  • Those who are selected for the final round are required to send us a mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by 7 days of declaration of the result. The mail should consist of the following things :
    • Acknowledgement that you are aware of you being selected.
    • Details of all the team members: Names, Departments, Phone numbers, College, etc. Please try to put them in a proper tabular format for our convenience.
    • Confirmation of coming to i-fest for final round.

Phase 2 (Final Presentation)

  • Presentations should be in .ppt or .pdf format (preferably .pdf). Microsoft Office 2003/2007/Adobe acrobat Reader will be provided.
  • The time for presentation will be 8 minutes. One buzzer will be rung after 6 minutes to remind the participants about the time and final buzzer will be rung after 8 minutes. After this, 2 minutes will be allocated for queries.
  • Any extension in the allotted time for presentation may result in the loss of points.
  • No request regarding change in schedule will be entertained in any circumstances.
  • Selected candidates need to bring 2 hard copies of their paper along with a soft copy (CD) and presentation in MS 2003/2007 format on the day of event. Participants are requested to bring the files on a CD (and not on Pen Drives, Memory Sticks, DVDs or Floppies).The presentation soft copy and the text papers should under no circumstances bear the name of the participants or the college; any case of this rule being violated will lead to disqualification. The participants have to submit the soft copy (CD) to the organizers at the time of presentation.
  • Participants are free to bring their own Laser Pointers or Hand Pointers and none will be provided by the organizing team.
