B-Plan

Introduction

The business world is replete with examples of entrepreneurs who shunned the often trodden path and instead churned out a new path themselves. This is the b-plan competition of i-fest, where budding businessmen showcase their business acumen and managerial skills to create a high flux of obscure, entertaining and innovative ideas which may have the potential of becoming future business endeavors. Here one has to beat the best to be the best! So go on, ooze out your entrepreneurial spirit to build your own business empire!

Rules

Team formation

  • B-plan is open to all students of undergraduate and postgraduate students of B-Schools & Engineering College.
  • Team can have a minimum of 2 members and maximum of 3 members.
  • Corporate entries are also allowed

  • No student can be part of more than one team.
  • It is not necessary that the students forming a team should be from the same college.
  • There is no restriction on the numbers of team from the same college.

Phase 1(Abstract Submission)

  • Executive Summary either in form of word document or pdf, less than 2000 words, Times New Roman, 12 font size, 1 spacing.
  • Submission of executive summary should contain:-
    • The product or service description
    • The market
    • The finance requirement
    • Revenue and growth potential
    • SWOT analysis

 

  • Please mention the following things on the FrontPage of your paper
    • Author(s) Registration ID
    • Name of Author(s)
    • Name of your Topic
    • University Name
    • Contact Details

 

  • No entries will be accepted after the deadline.
  • Eextra points will be awarded for b-plans based on application of futuretechnology.

Phase 2 (Final Presentation)

  • Submission of detailed Business plan & its presentation.

  • Based on the executive summaries, the top 10 teams will be selected.

  • The business plan can be of maximum 40 pages excluding appendix and executive summary.

  • The business plan should consist the following points in detail:

    • The industry, the company and its products/services

    • Market research and analysis

    • The economics of the business

    • Marketing plan

    • Design and development plans

    • Manufacturing and operations plan

    • Management team

    • Overall schedule/ time table

    • Critical risks , problems, and assumptions

    • The financial projections

    • The exit plan

Guidelines

  • Picture clippings and graphs may be used.
  • The plan should not exceed more than 10,000 words, Times New Roman, 12 font size, 1 line spacing.
  • The teams will get 8 minutes to present their plan. It will be followed by a question and answer session of 2 minutes.
  • The participants will have to present their business plans in Microsoft PowerPoint 2003.
  • We will provide computer, LCD, Collar Mike for presentation.
  • The organizers reserve the right to change/update the rules of the contest at any point of time and will do their best to inform the participants of the same. However, it is ultimately the responsibility of the teams to keep themselves updated.

  • Feasibility of the management technique
  • Strategy for addressing demands and competition
  • Profitability and potential returns of the plan
  • Funding
  • Manufacturing and Operational Plans
  • Organizational hierarchy
  • Financial Plan Marketing strategy outline
  • Critical risks and problems
  • Business Sustainability
  • Exit strategy

The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.
